Moons In Retrograde is a dark alternative solo music project founded by Kara Kuckoo which has been labeled: “Nightmare Trip-Hop Splattered in Body-Paint” due to the dark aesthetic body art which is a central part of the project. Kara is a multi-media installation artist and uses body-paint and other materials to create a dark atmosphere in her online videos and unique performances. Her previous music projects included; gothic rock band, In Winter (Cleveland, Ohio) and trip-hop duo, Azure Noir (Las Vegas). American born, she now resides in Northern Germany and Moons In Retrograde is based in Flensburg. Moons In Retrograde is about reflecting on and digging up buried emotions. It also focuses on the dark aspects of mental health issues, themes of the shadow-self and of society, as well as shining a light into the darkest corners of the mind and exposing the truth about the dark side of humanity. These themes are featured throughout her art, music and videos on YouTube.
